Sounds simple, you want to put on weight and bulk up so you eat right? The important thing is to eat right.
Good nutrition coupled with regular exercise will help you build muscle and gain weight naturally.
Here’s a fact you may not have known. Muscle tissue weighs more than fat tissue. Yes, it’s true. The difference is that most of us want to be muscular, not fat.
To achieve this, the first thing you need is protein. It is the fundamental building block of muscle tissue. You don’t need to get it from a supplement, (although there are some great supplements out there) I mean high quality protein from your everyday diet.
Eating lean meats (trim off the fat) fish, poultry, nuts and seeds and some cereal grains (e.g.: oats) is a healthy natural way of getting your daily protein requirement.
Of course if you want to give yourself a leg up to your goals, supplements are okay, just make sure you do your research to find a reputable brand. (Prograde Nutrition® are very good, you can read my review here: Prograde Nutrition Review).
Resistance or Weight Training
If you want to build muscle mass, you must be committed to exercising regularly. And by exercise, I mean resistance or weight training. Nothing is going to build muscle as quickly and effectively as lifting weights. To build muscle, you need to use them, common sense really.
If you’ve never done any weight training, there are literally hundreds of programs on the web to get you started. I’ve reviewed some of the best workout programs here.
Once you get started, you’ll wonder why you didn’t start years ago. As your confidence and muscle mass grows, so will the weights you use, your intensity and form will improve and you will be able to build muscle and gain weight naturally and attain the body you crave.
Cardio training needs to be included in your weekly cycle of exercise, not to replace resistance training, but to enhance it. It has many health benefits, but I’m only going to mention 3 here.
- First is that it burns fat fast. If you are putting your heart and soul into your weight sessions, you don’t want your improved muscle mass hidden by a layer of fat.
- Second is the effect it has on your whole body, cardio works the heart and lungs. When you lift weights, your muscles need blood carrying oxygen to keep up with the strain you’re putting on them. Cardio helps you to oxygenate your blood and get it to where it is needed.
- Third, cardio is great for an all over toning and definition of your the muscles you have worked so hard to develop.
These four things are just the start for you to build muscle and gain weight naturally. Now it’s up to you to continue building your knowledge and building a better you. That is where you choose the fastest way to build muscle and gain weight naturally.
